Joni and Marvin’s wedding was our very first, and it took place far from home, in Bali. From the beginning, they were clear about what they wanted, not a performance, not something staged, but a film that would remember the day exactly as it unfolded.
This wedding was 25 years in the making. Because of that, it mattered deeply to them that their video would age well, remaining honest and true long after trends fade. They wanted something timeless, something they could return to without feeling the presence of cameras or direction. Just the day as it was.
The celebration was intimate, shared only with their closest friends. There was a calm to it. No rush, no spectacle. Just quiet conversations, laughter, pauses, and the weight of shared history finally arriving at this moment.
We approached the day as observers, not participants. Our role was simple: to stay out of the way and preserve what was already there. The glances, the voices, the stillness in between moments. These were what mattered.
Joni and Marvin’s wedding reminded us why Quiet Eyes exists. Not to create moments, but to wait for them. And to remember them as they truly were.
